USING TEXTURES TO SET A STYLE

You can use textures to set the style of a room. Different types of textures are suitable for decorating specific rooms. For example brass, velvet, brocades, lace and feathery ferns have a period feel and these can be used to decorate period rooms. If you want a modern look for room, you can use chrome combined with smoked glass, brushed aluminium, black ash, and slatted Venetian blinds. Some textures are ever green and can be used in different ways to create a special look. These include brick, stone, and leather textures. It is pertinent to note that that balance must be achieved while using multiple textures and selecting materials. This means, creating a synergy by complementing and contrasting of different textures to create a unique style.
Shiny textures should be soften to reduce the stimulation and disturbance. Doing so will give a calmer feeling especially suitable for bathrooms and kitchens. This can be accomplished by complimenting shiny textures with soft and delicate light filtering colors. Rough textures may be soften with light filtering surfaces. If there is a dark surface, you can use softer and light absorbing textures, because they will produce an effective look. Try to create an imagination about possible combinations of diverse textural contrasts in your mind. It may give you an idea about its look when displayed on interiors. Different contrasts may be juxtaposed depending on the taste and situation you are facing for interior design.
